We travel around the northern polar circle – and discover an extreme and surprisingly diverse habitat. In Greenland we follow a very special animal into its habitat: the Greenland shark. Its life runs in slow motion, but lasts several hundred years. No other vertebrate becomes as old as this shark. In Norway scientists study “the big fish feast” – every year in November herring, orcas and humpback whales meet here. A unique natural spectacle that shows how rich nature is even in the far north. But the ecosystem is changing – signs of this can be found everywhere.
