On the pulse – Germany debates

Can we still afford Germany? Christian Sievers discusses this live in Berlin with leading politicians from all parties represented in the Bundestag.
There is less and less money in people’s accounts, and everything is becoming more expensive. People are feeling the pinch in their everyday lives. Whether it’s food, rent, or childcare, expenses are rising in all areas. How will this continue? What ideas are there to change the situation? What measures are being taken to combat the ever-increasing cost of living? How can we save our pension system? How can we stabilize jobs?
Bärbel Bas (SPD), Thorsten Frei (CDU), Tino Chrupalla (AfD), Katharina Dröge (B90/Die Grünen), Ines Schwerdtner (DIE LINKE), and Martin Huber (CSU) answer questions from people who are connected live to the studio from their living rooms. They provide insight into their everyday realities, share their experiences with the politicians, and discuss solutions with them. Throughout the program, they also have the opportunity to respond directly to the politicians’ statements and ideas using emojis.
