Beijing, June 1900: The “Fist Fighters for Justice and Harmony”, called “Boxers” by the Europeans, have locked up more than 3000 foreigners and Chinese Christians in the legation district. The Boxers want to kill all foreigners and free China from the influence of the ‘Western devils’. After 55 days of despair and hopelessness, a Western liberation army puts an end to the siege.

Based on the eyewitness accounts of the trapped, the film depicts a unique episode in world history that brings together the Middle Kingdom and the states of the Western world in a bloody theater of war.
