In this two-parter, marine biologist Uli Kunz gets to the bottom of two of the most fascinating aquatic phenomena – literally: In the episode about river deltas, he dives for deep-sea creatures in shallow water in one of the most remote areas on earth, at the southern tip of Tasmania. In the Amazon, he encounters pink dolphins and fishing jaguars, and in Mozambique, the only shark species that can cope in sweet and salty water – bull sharks. The second episode is about the most magnificent form of freshwater of all: waterfalls. At Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Uli will discover that waterfalls create their own ecosystems – and that high waterfalls are a huge obstacle for animals, but not one that a small fry can’t overcome.
