Delicious food can really be a blast. Especially when famous cooks wield the wooden spoon. Apicius, for example, was one of the star chefs of the Roman Empire, preparing flamingos and parrots. Frederick the Great went to great lengths to make the potato popular in his own country. And James Cook, the famous explorer, was not only called a “cook”, but also made a contribution to a balanced diet. After all, a varied culinary range can never hurt.
