History is written by winners. But they’re always the centre of attention. It’s time to celebrate the winning losers for a change. Some losers had themselves to blame for their misfortune, like the Trojans who couldn’t keep away from their horse. Or slaves to beauty who have so much cosmetic surgery they end up losing everything. Others simply had bad luck, like the dinosaurs or other species, which evolution considered unnecessary.
