The Germans

The primetime ten-part documentary about German history spans the period from Otto the Great in the 10th century to the proclamation of the First Republic by Philipp Scheidemann in November 1918. A millennium of change, one that saw the emergence of a “federal nation” characterised by unity and diversity.

Never before has a documentary about the history of the Germans been told in such a fascinating way. Decisive twists and turns are embedded in documentary sequences and re-enacted scenes.
This high-definition production employed well-known actors as well as hundreds of extras.

Nearly five hundred outstanding 3D graphics and computer animations, impressive shots of ancient sites, historically significant buildings and typical landscapes are incorporated in the films.
