Sometimes you want to drop everything and just get out of the usual rut. Some have dared to do it and dropped out. The reasons for these historical exits are manifold. The German Pope is throwing in the towel in 2013 because he no longer feels up to the intrigues in the Vatican. Robinson Crusoe, on the other hand, involuntarily exits on a desert island that is anything but idyllic. And as the most current and glamorous exit in history, Brexit naturally makes it into our show. History shows that an exit can be liberating, but it can also go wrong. How it ends for the British remains to be seen.
