Episode 4: Charles IV and the Black Death

Part 4 highlights one of the most dramatic eras in German history – the time of the great plague in the 14th century. Despite the catastrophic epidemic, Charles IV succeeded in introducing an imperial law determining the relationship between the German king and the princes: the famous Golden Bull.
