After World War Two, southwest Germany faced an uncertain future. The economy was on its knees, and thousands of refugees and displaced persons had to be received and integrated. But conditions began to improve sooner than expected. Together, the German people and immigrants became the driving force behind the German economic miracle. And people from all over the world found a new home in Germany’s southwest.
